PRESIDENT

I am a third generation Austinite and my husband, Russell, is a fourth generation Austinite. Following my graduation from Austin Reagan High School, I went on to pursue my career in healthcare. Working as a RN for many years, I began my fifteen-year career as a healthcare administrator. I was the Director of Nurses and the Director of Medicine at Baylor Scott and White, finishing my career as C.O.O. for RetroHealth. I retired the beginning of 2024.

In 2018, Russell and I began the renovation of Russell’s great grandmothers’ home. Russell’s family has owned the Holly St. property since 1907. Russell has many fond memories of visiting his grandmother and great grandmother on Holly Street. Russell is currently serving on a committee for The Trail Conservancy.

VICE PRESIDENT

I live on Willow Street and joined the Holly NA board in September of 2025. I was born in in Austin and, though my family moved when I was a small child, I returned for UT-Austin graduate school and have lived here for over 40 years. I have worked professionally as an environmental planner and manager with three different Austin engineering firms and the City of Austin’s Watershed Protection Department. Prior to our move to Holly in 2009, our family lived in north-central Austin where we helped start the Ridgetop Neighborhood Association and establish the Bruning Green community park. We adore Holly’s walkable streets, parks, Lady Bird Lake trail, our big trees, and all the friendly folks who live here. I love socializing with neighbors, working on neighborhood projects, and finding ways to make our community strong and resilient. My special passion is supporting Metz Park and Mendez Recreation Center and planting trees to add shade and beautify our community. Please join us on the first Saturday of both March and November every year for It’s My Park Day at Metz Park!

TREASURER

I was raised in Austin, and in 2013, my wife Jessica and I made the decision to move to the Holly neighborhood. We have two kids, Iyla (9) and Shae (12). One of the things we love about our neighborhood is that it is walkable and bikeable. Lady Bird Lake trail is my favorite place to run. Jessica and I have spent many evenings going out to see live music (and still do when we get a rare date night) so being closer to the action is great.

Working from home has enabled me to spend a significant amount of time in the neighborhood. Over the years, we're met so many great neighbors, but haven't had a way to stay connected so I'm looking forward to this group enabling that. As a board member, I hope to continue to bring together neighbors with common passions for improving the community and building stronger connections.

CORRESPONDING SECRETARY

Hello! My wife Chantal and I live at the corner Mildred and Canterbury.I’m running for my third year as a board member. My main focus during my last two years has been trying to keep up with all of the development going on around us so that  I can advocate for the best outcomes for our neighborhood and the surrounding area. I’ve been to more than 100 board meetings, public engagement events, etc during that time and recently had two big wins working with TxDOT on their I-35 project:1. I got TxDOT to redesign a future intersection near Sanchez Elementary to make things much safer for kids walking to school with friends I’ve made at other neighborhood organizations,2. I convinced TxDOT to add noise walls along our side of the highway to reduce sound pollution to the neighborhood, in collaboration with ECC NPCT,Otherwise, I’m really excited to be involved in another year of our amazing neighborhood!

RECORDING SECRETARY

My husband Dan, our two dogs, and I finally moved to Holly in 2019 after 15 years of knowing it was my "dream neighborhood." I liked Holly because of its vibrancy, history, and proximity to many of my favorite places in Austin. Now that I live here, my favorite thing about the neighborhood is the people, so I'm excited to meet even more neighbors and help strengthen our community. My professional background is in higher education, libraries, and management, but I've moved on (again!) and am now a residential real estate agent. One thing I love about it is that I stay informed about many different aspects of our city and region: development, government, the economy, transportation, and even simply what's going on in other neighborhoods. I volunteer weekly for Meals on Wheels, take art classes with my mom, and have been known to break out my saxophone at neighborhood gatherings. Here's another fun fact: I recently learned that before I was born my dad taught at Martin Junior High! 

I am interested in serving on the Holly Neighborhood Association Board because I feel strongly that as a citizen of the Holly neighborhood it is important to be engaged in my community. My Husband Stuart & I built our home here in 2023 because we loved the trails & the proximity that is everything “Austin”. But after moving in, I found that I enjoyed the people & the energy of East Austin even more. It has been great getting to know my neighbors & making new friends.

Big changes are happening in our area! I have worked as both a Realtor & Home Builder in Austin for the past 23 years. I would like to utilize this work experience to help ensure that Holly remains a welcoming, safe & inclusive neighborhood where we all enjoy living.

Helping form the Holly Neighborhood Association over these past 3 years has been a joy and an honor.  I have gotten to know people I might not have ever met, and learned more deeply about the history of our neighborhood, and had a voice in the many changes happening here.

As we head into our 4th full official year, I hope to continue to contribute on the board as we plan to expand our geographic boundaries, and work more closely with other neighborhood organizations. Our  membership continues to grow, new leaders are coming forward, and Holly NA's voice in our neighborhood future is becoming stronger. 

It has been exciting to see neighbors get involved, meet each other, enjoy our local businesses and learn more about our dynamic neighborhood.

I’m a former lawyer, small business owner, and long-time volunteer with families in the Foster Care system. Art and I bought our home in Holly in 2014, and have been in Austin over 40 years now.

We are both (mostly) retired, love living in a walkable and bikeable neighborhood, and being close to all the things downtown and East Austin have to offer. I want to continue to help build a fun, tight-knit community and keep the development of the neighborhood family-friendly and reflective of its history.

I am a long life resident of East Austin, a graduate from Johnston High School and the University of Texas, a Network Engineer and Community Activist. I tackled the issue of the Digital Divide in East Austin, by forming the first Hispanic WebPortal, and created several programs including the East Austin Cyber Surfers. I have worked with nonprofits like the Austin Tejano Music Coalition and Tejano y Mas to promote Tejano Music, Heritage and Culture. I enjoy swimming, dancing and biking. And I really enjoy working with the community to bring people together.

I am a lifelong Austinite moved from MarbleFalls, Llano County at a young age. I come from a latino family. I graduated from Stephen F. Austin high school and some college from ACC in IT and audio engineering from Vaterott College by Nelly in Chicago, Illinois and a community activist. I have been active with protest's like the No King's protest and community board meetings. I enjoy working with the community to bring people together in this fast paced city and keeping the families connected and involved with what is occurring in our streets.

I love being part of a neighborhood where there’s so much happening right outside our doors, and I’m excited to get more involved in bringing neighbors together and building a stronger sense of community. I work in events and have a background in design, so I’d love to bring some of that experience to finding creative ways to help people connect, support our local businesses, and make it fun to get involved. I also want to stay more informed about what’s happening in our neighborhood and across Austin, and help keep others in the loop too. I’m excited to learn more, lend a hand where I can, and be a small part of what makes Holly such a great place to live!
