Holly NA Kalimotxo Wine Tasting
Join Holly Neighborhood association THURSDAY, June 26th for a Spanish wine tasting and a collection of snacks provided by Kalimotxo on the house.
holly NA Quarterly Membership meeting
Members will have the opportunity to discuss projects for Metz Park and Pool. Holly NA member Matt Hollon and Board Member Ian Wilson have been gathering ideas from neighbors, Metz staff and our park co-adopters, The Austin Bike Polo Club. They’re also working closely with City of Austin Parks Department and Aquatics Department personnel on maintenance needs and resources available for improvements. At the meeting members will be able to consider and prioritize our efforts as park adopters.
‘Neighborhood Block Parties - Advise and Help’ is also on the agenda for the September meeting. The Holly NA Board will be announcing details of it’s new “mini-grant” program to help organizers with advertising and some of the expenses of throwing a block party. We’re also asking some experienced block party hosts to come and give advice.
Holly Jam
Holly NA will be hosting an informal ‘JAM SESSION’ on at a private home in Holly. Musicians, poets, and other performers who are interested in participating should email their contact info to Holly NA Jam Session. Our host has a backyard stage and audio equipment. Performances should be family friendly.

The Parks Foundation speaker will help us learn how we can improve Metz Park and Pool.

Holly NA Happy Hour
Join us for the first neighborhood happy hour of the year. $1 off beers for members. Lazarus has over 15 beers on tap, Mexican street fruit made from scratch; crafted espresso, drinks, and other nonalcoholic options.

The director of AISD’s Outdoor ‘Wow!’ Learning Center, or OWL, at Metz School is scheduled to be a guest speaker. Additional agenda items TBD
2nd Annual Grand Welcoming Party
Holly Neighborhood Association’s Second Annual Grand Welcoming Party on Sunday, September 29th from 4–7 p.m., will feature music, light snacks, and a raffles throughout the evening with items from local businesses. BYOB is welcome, and there will be activities for the kids.

Holly NA Pickle Ball Clinic
Holly NA is teaming up with the staff at Mendez Rec Center to offer a free Pickleball clinic. If you’ve never played, or are just starting out, come join us.
Sunset Paddle hosted by the Expedition School
We’ll gather at 7 pm to get equipment. The School operates out of two cargo containers at the Festival Beach Boat Ramp. Double kayaks and Stand Up Paddleboards will be $20 for the hour, canoes are $25, and single kayaks are $15.

Holly Shores Community Engagement
The Trail Conservancy plans a new trail head, trail enhancements, and a new play area, as envisioned in the Holly Shores/Edward Rendon Sr. Park Vision Plan, and is looking for your ideas.

Holiday Happy Hour at Hi Hat Public House
A Holly NA celebration at Hi Hat Public House has been announced for Wednesday, December 16th from 5-7 PM. Hats decorated for any holiday are encouraged and prizes will be awarded. ‘Wine Wednesday’ discounts will be available, and neighbors are invited to stay for live music which will start at 8PM.
Willow Block Party
Family-style potluck down the middle of Willow Street. People will begin gathering at 1, and are asked to arrive by 3 to sit down together. At 5 p.m. a group photo will be followed by s’mores and firepits. Please RSVP if you plan to attend.
